This is an original design idea.
This quilt is dedicated to the memory of the 50th anniversary celebration which Kuwait saw this year. It is 20 years since  liberation of Kuwait and  being a part of this country before and after liberation  and going through the trauma of occupation, I am as happy as every national that Kuwait is liberated and a happy country celebrating the 20thyear of liberation and I  congratulate Kuwait in their happiness.Techniques:Machine embroidery using Bernette 340 embroidery machine, metallic and silk  threads,  free motion embroidery, thread painting, machine applique.  fabric spray painting. Machine quilted. Size-26×32 Inches.Prizes-won-

Artists statement

The quilt depicts a partial view of  the main door of mahabt maqbara.  The architecty\ure depicts  fusion of indo -islamic architecture with Gotic art. Mahabat Maqbara is a stunning mausoleum of one of the Nawabs of Junnagadh and is buikd in the late 19th century and is located in Girinar, gujarath, India.

The quilt design is based on the tile lay out in Scientific Center Kuwait.the line drawn blocks depict,Belly Dancer,Camel racing from Kuwait,Desert safari from Dubai,the golden mask of Tutankhamen from Egypt,Arab dress, Palm tree and Arabic tea Pot.

Awards–  KTAA Annual Quilt Exhibition May 2006

Winner-Children’s Choice-

This quilt was made in memory of my visit to China. All nos from 1 to 100 are hand cut in felt and machine appliquéd . Techniques used are machine embroidery, thread painting,machine appliqué. This is a functional quilt with a rolling fabric dice and six, colored, marker coins.
