The basic   drawing used for this quilt is derived from an actual photograph of the Mausoleum.

Artist’s Statement

.  The quilt depicts a partial view of the door of the Mahabat Maqbara . The architecture depicts a fusion of Indo-Islamic architecture coupled with Gothic art form.

Mahabat Maqbara is a stunning mausoleum of one of the Nawabs of Junagadh, and is built in the late nineteenth century (1892) It is located in the state of Gujarat in the hills of Girnar in, India
