March 21st was the National Quilt Day and our quilt group decided to hold a quiltathon that began at 8am in the morning and continued till 5 in the evening. We had a beautiful venue, a group of friends all around and fantastic arrangements from table settings to lunch, what else a quilter needs?. We made 24 quilts on the whole and donated it to the handicapped society, it was bought for the society for orphans and the money from the sales went to the handicapped society. In short, we made the quilts, handicapped society got money by selling it, and orphans got our quilts.
I made two quilts, an easy curve piecing, which was not that easy as I spent two days cutting, arranging and piecing the 60×45 inch top and on 21st I basted and quilted it and finished it. The other quilt was smaller and was the easy one as I could do it in a single day. It was 35×40 inches and 61/2 inch squares, attached. But it was fun all the way.
